AFK Fish Farm Designs in Minecraft

Fishing is a somewhat underrated activity in Minecraft that allows players to gather supplies, experience, and even some rare loot. However, like many things in Minecraft it can also be tedious when done repetitively. Thankfully there are ways to make this task more enjoyable and less time consuming. In this article, we’ll be discussing two of the best AFK fish farm designs in Minecraft that can help players collect experience without having to sit by their keyboard for hours at a time.

To get started, players need to have a fishing rod. This can be crafted with the crafting table or obtained by finding one in a chest or dispenser. Afterwards, the player must then find a body of water. This can be found anywhere in the world, ranging from lone ponds to surface and underground lakes, rivers, and oceans. If the player wishes to catch more valuable loot, they can enchant their fishing rod with lure, which lowers the chance of catching junk items while increasing the chances of catching treasure items.

The most important thing to remember when fishing is that the game does not stop until the player clicks their mouse or key to cancel. This is why it is recommended to use an auto clicker or the F3+T feature that reloads textures while you are holding your mouse button. This way you can tab out of the game and let your character automatically continue to fish.

When a player grabs an XP orb, the game will first check to see if they have any equipped Mending items. If they do, the XP will go towards repairing them. Then it will look at the fishing rod’s durability, and if it is below 50% it will give the player 5 XP instead of 10. Finally, it will take the highest value item in the loot table that the player has selected to fish for (usually a chest) and add it to the inventory.

Besides Fish, some of the most common loot items that are caught while fishing include Cocoa Beans and Bamboo. The loot tables for Jungle Biomes also add a few other items to the list of junk and treasure items that can be caught while fishing.

For those who do not want to spend all their time in their base and would rather be out exploring, a mob farm is a great option for accumulating experience and rare resources. This type of farming is a bit more complex and requires some redstone knowledge, but once it is set up properly it can be quite lucrative.
