An Introduction to Fishing Poles

What most people in North America call today’s fishing pole is, in reality, fishing rods. Any object that has a handle, guides, and a spool attached to it obviously is a fishing pole and all fishing poles are meant to cast heavier lures with more line. There is another common misconception in the fishing world regarding fishing poles. Most people believe that if they use an ultra light fishing pole, it will be easier to cast a heavier lure. This is simply not true!

I once had a client that fished from a very skinny fishing pole and cast telescopic sinkers. The sinker shot out of the rod straight and literally hit a pike right in the head! The poor man didn’t know what to do and his line was way too heavy to catch the pike that day. Needless to say, he never cast telescopic again!

Another great fishing pole is the tenkara fishing reel. It is used primarily in Japan and Australia. A tenkara reel is basically a spool on a handle that can be raised to a certain level. When the user wants to cast, the rod is first extended to the tenkara fishing reel and then the line is drawn through the reel housing and reeled in. This is a great system because the fisher doesn’t have to worry about a weight issue with the line, they just have to raise the tenkara fishing reel to a certain height and then pull the line through.

To choose the best fishing pole, you will first need to determine what kind of fish you’ll be catching. Then you’ll need to find the best type or style of tackle to use to accomplish your goals. Some types of tackle are more versatile than others. For example, if you plan on catching bass you might want to buy a set of good quality baits, rather than one single bait. On the other hand if you’re hoping to catch catfish, you’ll want a different type of tackle.

Most anglers who fish on a regular basis find that conventional fishing rods and reels are usually all they require. These kinds of rods generally feature a mild line attached with a strong reel. Some of these traditional rods can also be altered by adding a drag system to increase the casting distance or even to slow the retrieve. Anglers can also buy a swivel fishing reel which allows the angler to rotate the line and thus change the casting angle.

There is another type of fishing pole that anglers should give a serious look at. This type of fishing pole is called the sideway pressure fishing pole. It uses no conventional rod at all and instead requires the angler to have a certain type of tackle to attach to the end of the pole. This tackle is similar to using a regular fishing pole, but the strength of the tip of the pole is multiplied by a great amount. The result is that with a dowel pin or similar attaching device the tip of the pole can be much stronger than the weight of the end of the line itself.
